An Overview

DBRANLU Campus

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonepat (DBRANLU) is one of India’s National Law Universities, established by the Haryana State Legislature under Act No. 15 of 2012 and the only National Law University in the State of Haryana. Originally constituted as National Law University Haryana, the University was renamed in 2014 in honour of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

The University is situated in the Rajiv Gandhi Education City (RGEC), Rai, Sonepat; one of India’s premier education hubs, home to several renowned institutions of higher learning. Located within the National Capital Region (NCR) and just off the Delhi–Haryana border, the campus offers students and faculty the advantage of close proximity to the Supreme Court, the High Court of Delhi, leading law firms, regulatory bodies, and other institutions central to India’s legal and policy ecosystem, while providing a spacious and academically enriching campus environment. Excellent connectivity through NH-44 (GT Road) further links the University to Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, and the wider NCR.

Recognised by the Bar Council of India and a member of the Consortium of National Law Universities, DBRANLU admits students to its flagship programmes through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). The University offers the five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme, along with LL.M. and Ph.D. programmes, supported by a multidisciplinary curriculum, contemporary elective courses, and opportunities for specialisation across diverse and emerging areas of law. Through a distinguished faculty, an evolving research ecosystem, vibrant moot court and clinical legal education programmes, and a wide range of student-led academic and co-curricular initiatives, the University seeks to nurture intellectually rigorous, ethically grounded, and socially responsible legal professionals prepared to contribute meaningfully to the justice system and to the service of the Nation.
