ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

The Admission is based on the merit through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).However, to qualify for admission:-

  1. The candidate must have passed 10+2 examination of the Board of School Education, Haryana or its equivalent State/Central Board with minimum 45% marks in the aggregate (40% marks for SC/ST candidates)
  2. The candidates appearing in or awaiting results of the qualifying examination held or being held in March/April may also apply and appear for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) provisionally, subject to the condition that they shall produce the proof of having passed the qualifying examination with the prescribed percentage of marks and other requisite documents at the time of their counseling for admission at DBRANLU, Sonepat.
  3. The candidature of:-
    • those who do not clear the qualifying examination with the requisite marks and or fail to produce result on the date of counseling, or
    • those who get compartments/re-appear in any subject in the qualifying examination, shall be cancelled and subsequent securing qualifying marks shall not be considered in any case.

Note: A candidate applying in any type of reserved category is required to submit category certificate issued by the Competent Authority.

The total intake for the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Five-Year Integrated Course including Supernumerary seats shall be One Hundred and Twenty (120).

Horizontal Reservation: 3% (4 seats) horizontally reserved for PWD students.

Wards of Kashmiri Migrants/Kashmiri Pandits/Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-Migrants) living in Kashmir Valley (5%) (As per UGC/MHRD Notification) (Supernumerary Quota)

Note: Number of seats and reservation shall be subject to approval by competent authorities. *WL: Wards of Land owners whose land has been acquired under Land Acquisition Policy of the Government for Rajiv Gandhi Education City, Sonepat.

  1. Candidate applying in the any type of reserved category is required to submit category certificate issued by the competent authority.
  2. The candidate applying under WL category shall have to produce certificate mentioning that his/her or his/her ancestral land has been acquired under land acquisition policy of Rajiv Gandhi Education City, Rai, Sonepat. The said certificate should be dully verified by concerned Tehsildar.
  3. Admission to the category of the ‘NRIs’ shall be direct on the basis of inter-se merit of the qualifying examination after due verification of equivalence and eligibility conditions and also on the basis of Interview to ascertain proficiency in English Language, overall academic records and suitability. Candidates applying in NRI Category shall not be required to appear in CLAT whereas: All ‘Non Resident Indian’ candidates must apply directly to the Registrar, DBRANLU, Rai, Sonepat in prescribed admission form (available at DBRANLU website i.e.
    dbranlu.ac.in). In case of vacant NRI seats, NRI Sponsored will be accommodated as per merit.
  4. The allocation of the candidates to DBRANLU, Sonepat by the CLAT Authority through the Centralised Admission process shall be provisional subject to verification of original certificates/testimonials and documents by DBRANLU. Therefore, candidates are required to submit admission form available in the DRBANLU Prospectus alongwith the attested copies of the documents/certificates.
  5. The Candidates are required to produce original Certificates / Documents on the date of the interview/ counselling. Failure to produce Certificate / Documents in original shall result in cancellation of their candidature.
  6. Conversion of reserved seats into general category: In case of non- availability of candidate in reserve category, the vacant seat(s) shall be converted as under:
    1. On non-availability of a ST candidate, the seat shall be converted into the SC Category.
    2. On non availability of SC candidate, the seat shall be converted into General Category.
    3. On non-availability of a EWS Category candidate, the seat shall be converted into the General Category.
    4. On non- availability of WL category candidate, the seat shall be converted into the UR-HR Category.
    5. In the event of quota reserved for PWD remain unutilized due to non availability for suitable category of handicapped candidates, it shall be offered to the Ex-servicemen and their wards and the dependents of Freedom Fighters as per Haryana Govt. Reservation Policy.
